Therapy for Moms, Children & Families in Maryland
Motherhood is a journey unlike any other, and you shouldn't have to navigate this journey alone. Whether you're preparing for a new baby, feeling completely overwhelmed and overstimulated by the early years, struggling to balance the needs of growing children, or trying to cope through loss and grief within your perinatal period...I'm here for you.

As a therapist who specializes in supporting moms through various stages of parenting, I bring compassion, relatability, humor (when needed, because if we don't laugh we'll cry right?), and no judgment! All feelings are valid and welcome here. And together we can explore what you need more support in, build up your strengths, and encourage practical tools to help you cope, grow and feel more connected.

Additionally, I started my career as a therapist working with children and families looking for support managing childhood anxiety, school stress, social challenges, and coping with major life changes or transitions. I have limited availability for working with new children/with their parents as I believe in approaching childhood stressors from family-oriented techniques.

I'd love to have a brief chat to see if I'm the right fit for you or your family!

Thank you for already taking a step towards personal growth and I am so grateful that you took the time to explore if my practice is the right fit for you. I truly believe that there is "no size fits all" approach to therapy.

If you are feeling frustrated, lost, anxious, overwhelmed, or hopeless, I am here to help you. I want to help you feel confident that you can cope and navigate life's stressors.

I'm Allison (Allie) McQuaid, and I'm a licensed professional counselor in Maryland, certified in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International. I have been helping children and families for over 10 years, and helping moms navigate the challenges of motherhood for over 5 years. I have lived experience with navigating and managing anxiety since childhood, and struggled with anxiety during pregnancy and postpartum during the height of the pandemic. This inspired me to earn extra advanced training and certification in perinatal mental health to support moms in the community.
